Tempest Renderer is an experimental framework that we developed and used in
our research. This package is distributed as reference implementation of the
model and scratch texturing tools described in the publication:

Scratch Iridescence: Wave-Optical Rendering of Diffractive Surface Structure
Sebastian Werner*, Zdravko Velinov*, Wenzel Jakob, Matthias B. Hullin (* joint first authors)
ACM Transactions on Graphics 36(6) (Proc. SIGGRAPH Asia), to appear, 2017.

The source code provided in this package is licensed under multiple licenses.
We license the bulk of our source code under the MIT license. The external/
folder contains libraries that are licensed under compatible licenses,
however you should take note of them if you plan on developing derived works.
We provide a set of common graphics research assets with this package and
some of our own. Please refer to the respective folders for any licensing details.

We developed the bulk of the code base on Windows. The CPU-only parts of the
framework can run on Linux without major modification.

External Dependecies:
* Qt 5

You can compile our software by using cmake directly or one of the shell
scripts that we provide for generating projects.

We tested the interactive editor only on NVIDIA hardware. It requires
graphics driver with Vulkan support.
